Transducers, Arrays and Towfish

The Micromodem can be configured to utilize nearly any transducer for a particular application. We test the transducers and design magnetic matching networks to optimize to acoustic source level and bandwidth for a given application. Below are several of the transducers, hydrophones and transducer towfish that we routinely utilize with Micromodem systems.

211002WH-BT-2 Double Ring 28 kHz Transducer Specification Sheet:

Standard omni-directional transducer used for our 25 kHz modem systems.

Produces ~6dB more acoustic source level (or equivalently a doubling in range) over the 211001 single ring tranducer.

211006-25-kHz-Transducer-01BTech BT28-UF Duoble Ring 28kHz Transducer with Feedtrough Specification Sheet:

Omni-direction transducer used with our 28 kHz modem systems that require no cables or connectors.

We have backing blocks available that allow for the addition of a connector to this transducer.

213104Benthos AT18-A1 15 kHz Transducer with Backing Blocks (LPMBH):

This is a directional transducer for our 15 kHz modem systems. We typcially use this transducer in vertical channels. We have backside baffles designs for this transducer that increase the front to back ratio receive response to improve performance in noisy environments.

213108Benthos AT18-AT 15 kHz Transducer with Backing Blocks (LPMBH):

This is an omni-directional transducer for our 15 kHz modem systems.

214008-4-Element-HTI-Array-(Inline)-024 Element HTI-96-MIN (CM) Spatial Diversity Array Inline:

This 4 element spatial diversity array is used to increase the performance of our PSK data rates. Inline design is more robust.
